Taiwan Perspectives from the ONWARD Initiative: Advancing Equitable Access and System Readiness in Cancer Care examines how global barriers to cancer innovation play out in Taiwan.
Drawing on ONWARD’s global evidence base, the paper highlights the system gaps that continue to delay timely and equitable access to advances in diagnosis and treatment. These include constraints in healthcare delivery, workforce capacity, diagnostics, data infrastructure, reimbursement, and funding.
It also identifies practical ways to strengthen system readiness and calls for coordinated action across government, healthcare, industry, and patient groups so that cancer innovation delivers meaningful, equitable benefits for patients in Taiwan and beyond.
